Leamington Spa Amateur Swimming Club is a swim21 accredited club. Swim21 is a scheme operated by the Amateur Swimming Association.  It is a planning tool, which enables clubs to help swimmers, coaches and administrators achieve their full potential. It focuses particularly on the needs of swimmers, and strives to provide them with the best possible support and environment.

Swim21 is a ‘Quality Mark’ which recognises the club’s commitment to providing quality, and safe services for the benefit of its members. The scheme ensures that the club operates within ASA guidelines and is following best practice for both teaching and squads. Accreditation provides access to ASA resources and funding to support training and development activities for coaches and for swimmers.
The ASA has three key aims which are reflected in the swim 21 programme.

  • To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn to swim.
  • To provide pathways to ensure everyone can achieve their potential.
  • To win GOLD medals on the world stage.

Clubs who want to secure swim21 Accreditation work steadily towards gaining a series of outcomes, all of which are seen as essential if the right level of support is to be provided at each stage of an athlete's development.

After lots of hard work LSASC have been awarded with swim 21 in both teaching and Skill Development levels, which means that it has reached the tough standards laid down by the ASA. This was gained by many hours of hard work by Jill Wharfe, and supported by other members of the club.
